Or when we are sitting in Orientation with 19 other called Medical Missionaries and their families and hear a real live Indiana Jones who has been to about 140 countries tell us that " that quality of our work is a platform for our witness!"
Or today when we receive our July Missionary Statement and see blessed gifts big and small including a $5,000 gift from Kristy's cousin's husband's mom, $1,000 from our church in Charlottesville, Portico, and 3 gifts from nurses I used to work with in the PICU, one that herself is going to the Belgian Congo to work with Mercy Ships for the next year. You can follow her adventure at http://eattolive-eattolove.blogspot.com/ We are so blessed and humbled by all of the gifts, and reminded of another quote from Orientation: "One DONOR, if He is Happy, then we have all that we need!"
We have been blessed with so many people in our lives throughout these years, and we are humbled to share them with you.
I will end with tonight I had the privilege of talking with Mr. Godfrey. He has been at Kristy's school for the past 18 years. As we were talking of my previous times in East Africa, and how the Southern Sudanese came to know the Lord AFTER the missionaries were kicked out of the country, he said that the other day at church he was in the cemetery of the 100+ year old church that he attends and saw the missionaries tombstones and thought about their sacrifice. He began to encourage his brethren to pray for England and the US, as we have forgotten HIM. Then we began talking how Mr. Godfrey might soon after he retires become a missionary himself, and continue the long tradition of giving yourself to others so that they might hear about HIM!! What a gift to meet such a Godly man so soon.
