Waterfalls

The water in the tub was brown by the time Kianna and I were done washing our legs and feet last night. All of our shoes are caked with mud.  Most of the clothes we brought have red streaks from the clay. If you can tell how much fun you had by how much dirt you bring home-- we had a fabulous time.

We took a 7 hour drive out of town Monday morning to head to Sipi Falls.  On the way there we drive over the Nile river at Jinga, the source of the Nile.  On the way back we stopped at a place with chicken on a stick.  The entire leg and thigh kabob-ed.  When the van stopped sellers swarmed us, shoving in their stuff to sell-- including meat, drinks, bananas.... I hope someone in the group got a picture of this.  Its hard to explain accurately.  Anyway, once there, we stayed in a rustic cabin, hiked and hiked and hiked, and had great dinners.  And a TON of it.  Tomato curry, chapatis, rice, beans, vegetables, beef stew, bamboo shoots.... and, fortunately for the Tiny Two, spaghetti.   There were 11 in our group, all from Heritage, with 3 little dudes (5, 6 and 8).  There was some whining and a break down or two-- for a few minutes Joel and Caleb were lost, but overall, a great time, loads of beautiful scenery, and crisp fresh air.

The view from Caleb's bunk.  You can see one of the falls in the right window.

Coffee, tea and a banana at breakfast.  We ordered more food too, of course.
