So May ended with so far the best camp that I have been involved in. After some earlier camps with less than stellar ICU help and some losses, I was finally able to communicate directly with the teams before coming and get good ICU care.
This team was from the UK, but the 2
ICU docs were not, at least originally. Dr Tom is actually Ugandan, went to school in Kenya, then to England, really good to work with. Then Dr Riyan is from England and actually his uncle owns a hospital in Bangalore, India, that another new colleague Lynsay from Morningstar International works with and we are now looking to partner with for Ugandan kids. Small world!! Anyway those two plus myself and Lameck (my blessing, a Ugandan colleague that has made these last few months so much better! He will be sorely missed when he goes to India for a year sometime soon!) managed to get 8 children out of the ICU including one that needed peritoneal dialysis, no small feat here, very satisfying!!! All 8 lived, first time that has happened yet, AMEN!!! This is the little girl here.
Then we could not do surgery for 4 weeks as there were no ABG (arterial blood has cartridges) in all of East Africa. But that was a good time hanging out with my in laws and my parents while they were here. Went on Safari to Murchison falls and then to Sipi Falls.

I then have been back working hard on 10 sponsored kids, also all lived!!! Many nights in the hospital, but all worth it when they do well, and you get to connect to the families!!
So good, but busy, also working on many Children's Heart Project items including Heart Camp at the end of August!
Oh and enjoyed the World Cup, Dutch almost again, haha.

1. Italian camp starts tomorrow, 3 cath and 8 surgical, please pray for safety, wisdom, and opportunities to share His love!
2. School starts again for Kristy and the kids, Kristy August 7th, and the kids August 14th.
3. The Coopers, friends from when I was in East Africa the first time, currently serving in Eastern Congo, she is due anytime now, safety for mom and baby!
4. Lastly a tough one, a dear brother in The Lord from our orientation with SP, sweet wife and kids, they serve in Liberia, were he has been heading up the Ebola outbreak response there. He now has Ebola, so please pray for him and his family and that The Lord's Name will be glorified through all of this!!
